Department for Affairs of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija
The Department for Affairs of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija provides and ensures the following:
- Functioning of institutions of the Republic of Serbia on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija:
- Social affairs, culture, media, religious issues, reconstruction of the cultural and religious heritage of Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) in Kosovo and Metohija;
- Infrastructure and telecommunications in Serbian areas of Kosovo and Metohija;
- Financial, legal, technical and personnel assistance in all areas significant for Serbs and other non-Albanian communities in Kosovo and Metohija;
- Legal protection of members of national communities, as well as of legal entities in Kosovo and Metohija;
- Coordination of affairs in the area of economy and economical development, with the line ministries as well as with other competent bodies and organizations of the Republic of Serbia;
- Improvement of services in the fields of electric power, transportation and telecommunications;
- Formulation of proposals which ensure essential autonomy of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as implementation of the state policy of preservation of territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia; and other.
