Belgrade, 02.07.2010. - The bomb attack on Serbs, who gathered protesting on the occasion of the opening of the so-called Kosovo government’s office in northern Kosovska Mitrovica, represents another act of violence and shows that Albanian extremists and Prishtina will not stop at nothing in order to achieve their secessionist plans.

Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija requests from EULEX to finally take measures in accordance with its mandate, to protect the Serbs, their lives and property, to ensure peace, and find and punish the perpetrators. No one has the right to further excuses, especially not the legitimate international presence. The opening of the office of the so called Kosovo government for the issuing of personal documents, in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, is a provocation, calculated to cause incidents. This morning's attack shows that every attempt of effectuating Prishtina’s plan for the integration of the northern part of Kosovo, could have unforeseeable consequences on peace and stability. Even the last skeptic, as well as all the diplomats of countries that have recognized the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, can now clearly see that the source of terrorism in the province are not the Serbs from the north, but the Albanian extremists, supported by the so-called government of Kosovo. Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija will do everything to protect the citizens in the north. Once again, I call on EULEX to find and punish the culprits, instead of caring for the implementation of Faith’s plan, and to eventually take all the measures in order to prevent such incidents and violence from repeating.
