Belgrade - Minister for Kosovo and Metohija Goran Bogdanovic strongly condemned the today’s attack on the Kosovo Assembly deputy Peter Miletic.
The attack, much like the preceding one in which one person died and 11 were wounded, was provoked by the extremists whose goal is to intimidate people and put a stop to activities undertaken to establish a dialogue to ensure lasting peace on the territory of the southern Serbian province.
’I urge the members of the international missions in Kosovo and Metohija to, in accordance with their mandate, resolve the attacks on the citizens of northern Mitrovica at the shortest possible notice and bring the perpetrators to justice. The international organizations must finally understand that imposing unilateral solutions cannot produce changes in the reality of Kosovo and Metohija, especially since these solutions run contrary to peace and stability and in fact contribute to the sense of apprehension among the Serbian population in the province’, the Minister stated.
’The most recent attacks in Kosovska Mitrovica are a signal of warning that outstanding issues must be resolved through dialogue, and that lack of talks and insisting on improper solutions create open playground for extremists. I call on citizens not to respond to provocations and violence because violence benefits only the Albanian separatists’, the Minister for Kosovo and Metohija Goran Bogdanovic stated.
