BELGRADE – Minister for Kosovo and Metohija Goran Bogdanović met today with the Political Affairs Director in the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Stefan Lehne.
In his talks with Minister Bogdanovic, Lehne expressed interest in the position of the Republic of Serbia concerning the general situation as well as the everyday state of affairs in Kosovo and Metohija. Another issue was expectations regarding the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice. Minister Bogdanovic expressed his confidence and positive expectations as to the International Court of Justice declaring the act of violation of the international law and order in the PISG declaration of the so-called state of Kosovo.
Minister Bogdanović also presented the Political Affairs Director in the Austrian Foreign Ministry Stefan Lehne a detailed account of the complex security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and the problems confronted daily by the Serbian and other non-Albanian population. The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange views on the forthcoming elections called by the so-called Kosovo institutions.
Minister Bogdanovic reiterated the well-known position of Belgrade that there are no conditions for the Kosovo Serbs to take part in the November 15 elections, and that in order to avoid any confusion or allow space for possible manipulation, this position had been timely stated by both the President and the Government of Serbia.
