After the visit of President Vučić, the Republic of Serbia helped resolve life issues of Serbian citizens in Kosovo and Metohija, and thanks to that help their survival and staying in the province were made possible, they said after a meeting with the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djurić, in Belgrade.

Milica Kostić, whose family was given an apartment to use in Laplje Selo, said that this solved a great lifesaving issue and that her children will not have to worry about a roof over their head.

Kostić, a native of Niš, who moved to Kosovo five years ago, lived with her husband and four children as a tenant.

“When I came, I couldn’t immediately find a job and my husband’s paycheck was spent on loans, we paid a lot for rent, and we had no other income. Life with four children in other people’s homes was too heavy”, she stressed.

Kostić said that she had been applying for all offers for houses and apartments, she asked for help everywhere and never stopped fighting, because she knew that help will come sometime.

“This solution means a lot to us, it means a lot to our children, because they have become bored of moving houses, and we have moved four times already”, she explained.

She added that when the time to pay the rent came, the children knew there was no money for high expenses and didn’t ask for anything, but now they are happy.

“We are now left with 130 euro every month. This may not seem like a lot to someone, but for us it is, and it will allow us to give more to our children each month”, Kostić said.

Nebojša Nikolić, the father of Vasilije who has leukemia, especially thanked President Vučić, Djurić, and the Ministry of Health, as a bone marrow transplant in Italy was made possible.

“I hope that we will leave for Italy next week. It is a great feeling when you know that you are not left to yourself and that the state stands behind you”, he said.

Stefana Ćirkovic thanked President Vučić and the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the Municipality of Gračanica for finding a solution to her life issue.

As a young mother of only 19, she was given an apartment to use in Laplje Selo, which solved her housing issue that was burdening her all this time.

Ljubiša Šarić from Orahovac especially thanked the National Employment Service for opening an office in his city.

According to him, 300 people were allowed to settle their obligations in Orahovac, instead of traveling to Kosovska Mitrovica, located 100 km away.

“Thanks to the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and President Vučić, people’s lives have been made easier”, he stressed.
