Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Mr. Petar Petković, handed over a tractor today to the Serbian returnees living in the village of Grebnik, near Klina. Owing to this tractor they will be able to undertake their spring farming with much less costs and much more certainty.

The said tractor is the donation of a Belgrade businessman Mr. Slobodan Tešić which came shortly after the recent meeting of President Vučić with the citizens in Laplje Selo.

‘’These brave people who have been going through so much here in Metohija deserve a donation like this and me being here on behalf of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija is a clear message that President Aleksandar Vučić and the Government of the Republic of Serbia are with them and that Serbia is always there to help them’’, said Petković.

As he reminded, after the 1999-war and March 2004 pogrom only a small number of Serbs remained in Metohija, and those who hold out in that part of our country in spite of everything live in enclaves with only a limited freedom of movement and high safety risks.

‘’These are brave people and true fighters who cultivate the famous fertile land of our Metohija and stand as a proof of Serbian existence here because we are at home here’’, stated Mr. Petković.

The keys to the tractor were handed in to Mr. Đura Krasić who cultivates eight and a half hectares with his brother and who will, thanks to this donation, reduce his costs and improve his living standard.

‘’We extend our gratitude to Mr. Slobodan Tešić from Belgrade for his donation, as well as to the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and our president who took all the necessary steps so we could get a tractor’’, said Đuro Krasić.

His brother, Mr. Đorđe Krasić, says that this donation means a lot to them since they had no means of cultivating their land.

‘’Many thanks to President Vučić and the donors he found, this is the sort of help that the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija need’’, said Đorđe Krasić.

The tractor will be used by four Serb returnee families, in an Albanian-majority neighborhood, and this is the third tractor which has been delivered to the Serbian farmers in Kosovo and Metohija in the last few days, all owing to the benefaction of Mr. Slobodan Tešić.
